Wall Piece - Wood Fire I
Stoneware, wood fire, no glaze - ash and flame finish
A wall sculpture born from a single intuitive gesture - the shape that appeared in my imagination the moment I touched the clay. Built by hand, fired in a wood kiln without glaze. The ash and flame left their own marks: shadows of rust and grey that no glaze could replicate. The irregular structure, carved openings and uneven surfaces change with the light - natural or artificial. Each hour of the day reveals a different object. Air plants can live inside the openings, softening the sculpture against any wall. Or it stands alone as the central point of a room. Either way, it refuses to be ignored. One of a kind. Made in Berlin.
Intuitive handbuilding - the form emerged without a plan, shaped by the material as much as by the hand. Wood fire technique: high risk of cracking during drying and firing, which is part of the process. No glaze applied. Colour and texture come entirely from ash deposits and the movement of flame inside the kiln.
