Mineral Glaze Vase

Stoneware, wheel-thrown, multiple glazes - electric kiln

The glaze doesn't stop - it moves. Blue breaks through cream, rust pushes up from below, the two meet at edges that look less like ceramic and more like a cross-section of mineral. Like something found in the ground, not made above it. The form is classic - shaped on the wheel, proportions that hold. The surface is where the work happens. No two areas read the same way. Turn it once and you have a different object. Holds flowers, branches, or simply space. One of a kind. Made in Berlin.

Wheel-thrown stoneware. Multiple glazes applied by hand in layers - the blue, cream and rust tones interact during firing in the electric kiln, bleeding into each other at the edges. The cracked texture in the glaze surface develops during the cooling process. Unrepeatable.
