MI-003 Mire Bowl - White Slip Accent
Stoneware, anthracite glaze, white slip accent, stainless steel wire
Wheel-thrown stoneware bowl, 150ml. Anthracite glaze with a touch of white slip at the base, wrapped in a band of stainless steel - LELEK's signature join. Use and care: - Sized for a ring dish, trinket dish, or small side serving - Interior: clear, food-safe glaze; fired to 1240°C - Hand wash recommended to preserve the wire finish
Process
How I make it: - Simple shape again, same reason as the cup - the glaze and wire are already doing a lot of the talking - I dip the piece in anthracite, then add a white slip band by hand near the rim before the second dip - Wire groove carved during trimming, wire fitted by hand after firing
